Preparing for Your Senior Session
What to know before your session?
Can you believe it?! You are graduating! With everything you have going on, I want this session to be as easy as possible! This page is full of information to help you prepare for your session. Take a moment, go through everything, and let me know if you have any questions! I’m here to help however I can!
What to know about your senior session:
Location: Prior to your session, we will discuss the location of your session. However, if you haven’t decided yet and need some help, here is a great blog to help you decide! Midland Location Blog
When will we start: Each session will start one hour before sunset. I will provide you with an exact time prior to your session. Please arrive a few minutes early to help make sure we start on time. For more information on your session time, check out this article!
PROPS: I tend not to bring props during my session. If you would like to bring a prop to your session, please let me know beforehand. This could be your letterman jacket, sports equipment, instruments, awards you’ve won, etc. I will not provide any of these items.
WHAT TO WEAR: Your senior session is just for YOU! It should reflect your style and a true sense of self! You don’t have a limit to outfits (remember you just have an hour), so When selecting your clothes, choose pieces you are comfortable in (we will be moving a lot) and show off your unique style. Regardless, make sure you can walk in your shoes and you can move comfortably in your outfit. Want some extra help? Layout what you’re thinking and email me, and we can walk through it together!
FAMILY: I truly hope that you consider including your immediate family in the last 15 minutes of your session! Here are a few helpful tips if you are including them. First, have them coordinate (not match) with one of your outfits. Secondly, they can either come separately or wait in the car during your session. If they want to walk around with us, they are welcome to as long as they aren’t a distraction. Finally, embrace this time with your family. Everything is about to change and, for just a few moments, I encourage you to be present in this moment and love on your family while you can!
Things to avoid: Large patterns/words. Bright/Neon pieces. Statement jewelry that distracts away from you. Try to get your haircut a few weeks in advance, you know, just in case. Practice safe sun prior to your session to even out those tan lines. Avoid Clothing and shoes that you can’t move in easily.
